Ask about asthma and type 2 diabetes
Answers are written only from public pages by MedlinePlus, NIDDK, NHLBI and CDC. Every sentence links to the passage it came from, and the assistant says so when those pages don't cover your question.

Compare retrieval
The same question goes through plain semantic search and through the system chosen in the evaluation (hybrid search with condition matching and a re-ranker). Each side shows the passages it found and the answer written from them.
Type a question in Ask a question and press “Compare”, or pick an example there.
Evaluation results
These numbers were computed once, before this website was built, on 89 held-out test questions. They are precomputed and do not change when you use the assistant.

About this tool
What it is for
Reliable patient information is usually written one condition at a time. People living with both asthma and type 2 diabetes have to piece answers together across many pages. This tool searches a fixed set of 373 passages from four U.S. government health websites, writes a short answer only from the passages it found, and shows exactly where each sentence came from.
What it will not do
It does not give medicine doses, does not tell you to start, stop or change a medicine, and cannot tell you whether you have a condition. If a question sounds like an emergency it shows an urgent-care message instead of an answer. It was tested on questions written by its developer, not by patients or clinicians, and no clinician has reviewed it.
Privacy
No cookies, analytics or tracking. Your question is sent to the answer service and to the language model provider (Groq) to write the answer; it is not stored by this project. Fonts are served from this site.
